Beekeeping is our lifelong passion — an art deeply rooted in tradition and respect for nature. Our journey began in 1979 in Serbia (former Yugoslavia), where beekeeping has been part of our family heritage for generations.
In 2012, we established MV POWER LLC Apiaries in Erie, Pennsylvania, bringing decades of European beekeeping experience to Northwest Pennsylvania. Today, we operate ten bee yards with approximately 150 hives across Erie County, carefully placed in diverse floral environments that shape the unique character of our honey.
Our Italian and Carniolan bees are kept in traditional 8-frame Farrar hives, inspired by the work of Dr. Clayton Leon Farrar (1904–1970). We believe this hive system is ideal for continental climates, supporting strong spring colony development while remaining lighter and easier to manage — always with bee health as our priority.
We are committed to ethical beekeeping, healthy bees, and producing high-quality, locally sourced honey for our community.
